Locally common among rubble and branching coral.  Rows of tiny blue dots and black pectoral base on all phases, females reddish brown with black spot on caudal peduncle, white spot on snout; males blue-brown with white belly.  Attains 6 inches.  This form occurs in Fiji and Tonga, and the species complex extends west to Eastern Australia.
